Musculoskeletal conditions such as sarcopenia and osteoperosis are common among older populations – however these degenerative conditions can be prevented or reduced by proactively taking care of our structural health. Frequent engagement in different forms of strength, flexibility and neuromotor exercises can effectively preserve and enhance mobility and health as we age.
This session addresses simple ways to overcome common barriers to moving more, and explores novel ways to weave more diverse forms of exercise into daily routines. It encompasses technical tips and evidence-based strategies to look after the major muscle groups (our ‘prime movers’) to rebalance the body and optimise form and function
